Public Works is responsible for the following town operations:
Streets, alley maintenance, and storm drainage
- Snow and ice removal
- Repairs to streets, sidewalks, and storm drains
- Alley sweeps and clean up
- Street sign installation and maintenance
Parks and recreation areas
- Mowing and tree upkeep in Gilcrest Municipal and Liberty Parks
- Pedestrian path repairs and maintenance
- Pavilion, bathrooms, sprinklers, and ballpark maintenance
- Pond/lake maintenance
Water and Wastewater system improvements, monitoring, and regulations
- Maintenance of water and sewer systems, lagoons, and pipelines
- Water quality testing and reporting
- Operating water and sewer systems
Fleet maintenance
- Maintenance of town trucks, cars, and tractors
